HP-6968 Does it used newly designed pigment ink. Universal ink OK?

I gave up (weeks back) trying to build a CISS for the multi-function HP6968. The space above the cartridge path is very limited. I tried several tubing support positions and none prevented the tubing from eventually kinking and/or blocking the printhead's movement. Refillable carts with ARC...

    My Switch to Maxify 2720

My left hand grabbed my right hand as it was about to put a few drops of Double2ink in the refillable cart filled with Precision Color black. Two slaps later it slunk back frustrated into its cage.

    My Switch to Maxify 2720

Double2ink test results: Wicking some straight black ink from the bottle's top, blotting dry the inch wide ring of ink on the 20# sheet of paper shows the black powder pigment slightly transfers to the blotter, another sheet of 20# paper. A small percentage transferred from where the ink had...

    My Switch to Maxify 2720

Stratman, thank you, again, for the dye vs. pigment ink test method. I'd like to go out into the back yard to pull weeds. But, your test suggestion is far more important, don't you think? So, I'll give up the joy of weed pulling out there in the cold in favor of ink testing here indoors where...

    My Switch to Maxify 2720

Stratman, thank you for a method to test how much pigment is in the Double2Ink bottle. So far, I've only tested the idea with the ink on my fingers. Chlorine bleach completely removes dye ink signs on fingers. Dish detergent removes pigment ink, it seems.

UPDATE on ebay refund test and stupid ink test: a) LD and E-Z Ink refunded full price when they received the unopened supposedly pigment black carts. b) Double2Ink's 100 ml bottle of labeled pigment black may be a blend of dye and pigment. It is probably "Universal" and I would like to test...

    My Switch to Maxify 2720

I'm impressed with mikling's willingness to comment and contribute to this site. My printer doesn't do art, but I saw (a few of) my wife's snapshots deserve blowing up on this Canon MB2720. The photos and printer deserve good ink. Nice to know I don't need more experimenting to find good...

    My Switch to Maxify 2720

Mikling, it seems nobody here doesn't like your ink. I'll buy some with confidence it won't trash the printhead. But, first ... The good news is that none of the eBay ink will go into the printer. Amazon has a generous return policy. We'll see how my LD Ink return request goes. Their ink...

    My Switch to Maxify 2720

I would appreciate a refill product recommendation for the Maxify MD-2720. Does anyone have experience with LD company's ink? I have a cart for the Canon Maxify MD2720. I'm thinking about transferring the ink to a refillable cart. Also, any thoughts about another company's universal pigment...

    My Switch to Maxify 2720

(The following was posted to HP thread due to transition (mistakes) to Canon Maxify 2720) Hat. Of course I overfilled the refillables. They still looked overfilled when I emptied them. Only later did I see a warning somewhere about overfilling. This (Sunday) morning, the Maxify printhead...

Any refillable HP 6968 carts (902 carts) available?

Maxify line has refillable carts and ink. I bought one. Don't put the HP ink for the 6968 in the refillable's, speaking from experience. It does not flow properly, but does not seem to completely block the print head. A switch back to Canon carts and printing about five pages of text clears...

Any refillable HP 6968 carts (902 carts) available?

3 Canon printers were all reliable, just worn out. Local small town's big store had Epson. Bought one for scanner and printer head. Took it back after 3 days of trouble with scanner. Got this 6968. Print and scanner have been reliable. But, clear-cased carts may be slow coming. LD says...

Any refillable HP 6968 carts (902 carts) available?

Wallet pain in 1st month of HP's automatically sending ink carts. I cancelled membership. I felt guilty for sending the carts back with all that ink I paid for. Drill 'em and syringe 'em eased the shame. Any thoughts or experience with carts from China? I used a CISS on the Canon IP4200...

HP-6968 Does it used newly designed pigment ink. Universal ink OK?

These carts that come with the printer don't hold much ink. HP wants to at least break even a few minutes following the buyer's first test runs when the buyer drives back to the store for a set of carts. I made one print run with the CISS and saw the ink was low. Now, no more printing until...

HP-6968 Does it used newly designed pigment ink. Universal ink OK?

The homebrew CISS is finished for the HP-6968. 4 pigments ink carts. Secret sauce is assuring the tubing loop rises on the return to park. If the loop is down the print head runs into the tubing droop on the way to park. This unit has a scanner above the print head and the ceiling above the...
