Ecotank pigment printer vs ecotank dye printer

I will write the procedure of transfer print to wood here, in case someone is intersected. You can do it in hard - thick paper too, or other uncoated surfaces. The results are depending of the surface, your stable hands and much luck. Is ridiculous simple procedure. You print a flipped image on...

Ecotank pigment printer vs ecotank dye printer

I am all ready doing it this with a HP photosmart inkjet printer, but the inks it uses are way too expensive and the fade life are 35 years. I want to upgrade and buy something with better quality inks, better performance of ink, better fade resistance and cheaper printings. I know that I want...

Ecotank pigment printer vs ecotank dye printer

I want to transfer the graphics to wood too. The wood has a lot of porous. I think pigment is better for this material. That’s why I tend to look for pigment base. I think the dye 106 will be sucked by wood, what do you think? If it 106 is reasonably good on matte surface I will take the l800...

Ecotank pigment printer vs ecotank dye printer

Thank you very much for your suggestions! What if I go crazy and buy l3150 and put in 113 ink? I googled about this printer that could take pigment. Is not very good printer but maybe worth the experiment? Is only at €180 printer, I don’t have money for spent but I am very curious to find out if...

Ecotank pigment printer vs ecotank dye printer

So you suggest to go with 106 ink not the 113 ink? I thought maybe in the future Epson launch a superior bottle pigment ink and I can transfer to this pigment ecotank printer, plus the ink is ridiculous cheap. Here costs for €14 (average price) per bottle. Or I can put an more professional 3nd...

Ecotank pigment printer vs ecotank dye printer

To be more clear I don’t need a very precision printer. I need it for color graphics without a perfect details and simple photos. But I want reasonable fade resistance and durability. So am 112/113 ink vs 106 ink.

Ecotank pigment printer vs ecotank dye printer

I clearly understand that ultrachrome pro ink is way much better than an average pigment ink, but it costs 5 times more. Epson promotes the Claria ink (maybe =106 ink much cheaper than claria) for semiprofessional photos and reasonable fade resistance. Do you think 106 ink maybe better than this...

Thank you for replying, your replies were the most informative for me. I want it for home photo type, but I want the inks to be as fade resistant as can be. What do you propose?
