I have just now put in my first refilled tank in my MP830. I could print from my computer, but now I received a fax and I get the message on the printer, but not the computer that ink is low and the fax is stored. How do I override this? Thanks.
I have been using my 830 for a little while now and it seems to really use the pigment ink fast. Has anyone kept track of pages per cart (b/w text) on either the 830 or the 4200?
What would be the basis for a law suit? Canon has the right to charge what ever they want for their ink carts and we as consumers have the right to decide if we will pay that price or seek an alternative.
Do you think this is only a problem if you are using a CIS or would it also affect all oem carts and Pixma print heads? If it affects all non CIS units you would think there would be more complaints and a Canon recall.
If you refill a chipped cart and override the ink monitoring feature can you subsequently use new oem carts and restore ink monitoring or is it gone forever? In any event I imagine the printer has recorded a warranty violation.
I don't want to get break any forum rules but if anyone is interested in getting a deal on a print head or a set of oem carts for a a 780 email me. John
Unfortunately my 780 appears to be doing something weird with the pigment ink. The resevior is only 1/3 full and I haven't put 25 b/w pages through the printer.
For those of you that have an 830 or an ip4200 how many 4x6 boarderless photos do you expect to get on a set of carts?
I stand corrected on the duplex issue, I was trying to scan a double sided document and print it. Also it appears that when you scan something that has color and b/w you need to select "color" in which case it prints the b/w using the color carts. At least it appears so because the text is not...
Ok, here is the deal. As some of you know from reading my other posts I have a 780 and a 830. The 830 was a replacement refurb from Canon for my 780 which is now working just fine. I need to return one of these printers as Canon is already calling me to return the 780. I have an extra set of...
My 780 seems to be using the pigment ink a lot faster than I would have expected. The ink resevoir is already 1/2 empty and I have probably only printed 25 pages of B/W. We went through a lot of color doing Christmas cards but that should not have affected 3e cart. Correct? I have it set to...
Also, based on my experience if you have a problem during the 90 Canon warranty period the 780 will be replaced with a 830. So if non-chipped carts is the reason for the purchase be advised. I have both the 780 and the 830 setting in front of me trying to decide which one to keep.
