    Strange MX 922 nozzle check

I see it as a small price to pay to give me the time to do some research as to how I wish to proceed. I really appreciate the suggestion, and all the knowledge I have gained here over the years from all of you.

    Strange MX 922 nozzle check

I am sorry. I guess I wasn't clear. I am not actually printing photos on this printer. I meant that now with the paper set to matte the printer prints at photo speeds, not the fast speed that it printed with the plain paper setting.

    Strange MX 922 nozzle check

Yes, the workaround works well enough to take the pressure off. Thanks for the warning about envelopes. The bad printing on the plain paper setting is good enough for those. Still very legible. (And way better than my first dot matrix printer from around 1980.) The real impetus to fix this now...

    Strange MX 922 nozzle check

I have eight paper trays for the MX922 that are loaded with various paper/envelopes/cards/etc. so I hate to replace it. I also have a lot of custom settings that I am afraid will need to all be redone if I change printers. I also need the duplex sheet feeder and duplex printing, which limits the...

    Strange MX 922 nozzle check

Thanks! I'll try the photo matte trick before springing for a new print head. I seem to recall they are hard to find and expensive. Yes, I have been using third party ink.

    Strange MX 922 nozzle check

My utility printer (MX 922) has started printing about every other line of text poorly. The nozzle check for the PGBK pigment black is strange. I tried a cleaning and an alignment, but I am assuming the print head is shot. I also cleaned the encoder strip. Any thoughts? Thanks, George

    Replace head on Pro-100?

I was afraid it was going to come to something like that! Now at least I know where to cut. :) The nice thing about working on a dead machine is that you can't make it any worse. Interesting to see the Pro-200 uses the exact same head as the Pro-100. That means we should be able to buy...

    Replace head on Pro-100?

Thanks. This was the first error of any kind on this printer, although B200 has been the demise of two other Canon printers. (MX 860 and MX 922) I had printed five 8x10s and decided to reprint one of them. Clicked "Print" in Qimage and got the error before the printer even started up. Because...

    Replace head on Pro-100?

I am getting the dreaded B200 error on my Pro-100. I have a spare printhead, but cannot get the print head to move to the center where I can replace it. Is there a trick? Thanks, George

    ColorMunkie Smile brightness calibration?

If you use DisplayCAL instead of the ColorMunki software, you can adjust the brightness as well as the colors with the Smile.

who sells 4x6 glossy photo paper in quantity

When I needed a couple hundred sheets of 4x6 for a project, I found a place on Amazon (e-Wholesaler)who sold me 1500 sheets of HP Premium Glossy for $16.41, including shipping. It came in sealed packs of 100. It isn't currently available, but you might contact the vendor.

16 bit printing with the Canon Pro 100

Peter, Here's an article by Adrian Ford of MSDN from 2008 that covers the 16-bit printing question pretty well. http://blogs.msdn.com/b/adrianford/archive/2008/10/22/16-bits-and-more-printing-on-windows.aspx I do know that Epson didn't provide any 16-bit Windows drivers for quite a long while...

16 bit printing with the Canon Pro 100

You can use the 16-bit XPS driver in Windows from ANY application. 16-bit printing has been available in Windows since the release of Vista. At that time Microsoft also released patches for XP and Server 2003, so if you are using any version of Windows since 2001, you have 16-bit support. That...

    Canon MP160 Error 5010

I am not familiar with that model, but most scanners have a lock to keep the head from moving during transport. Any chance it didn't get unlocked during setup?

Pro-100 retrofit ink kit from Precision Colors....Dramatic delivered.

Mike, I can clearly see the differences. I was just curious which was which. Please tell us. And did you use RC or Perceptual rendering on the profiled version? I am happy enough with the old MX860 inkset that I will use it up before getting the new. I only use that printer for non-critical...
