I don't know anything about a P5000, but it looks like the spring on a 3880 used as part of the auto sheet feed mechanism. It might also be the compression spring for the spur gear in the timing belt apparatus. Those are the only compression springs I see in the 3880 service manual.

You can try cleaning the printhead; I think the SC P700 uses the same basic print mechanism as the older 3880. However, a clogged printhead seems unlikely, since the whole channel is out. It seems more likely it is a bigger blockage in the ink delivery system further upstream, like a plugged...
