Has anyone got any information about dismantling the HP 74A (HP 92274A) toner cartridge to replace the wiper blades
I have two new but dated carts the are streaking badly
have tried google and youtube but cant find anything on the 74A cartridge

yes that’s what i have just found
i hardly never print text with my Canon inkjet printers i have a Laser printer for that.
so have been refilling the BCI-3eBK and PG5-BK with dye ink
and have had problems with the black nozzles blocking over a time when i do a regular test print, now use KMP...
must be the week for finding free canon printers, just got a MP610 off freecycle :weee ( UK forum for unwanted items due to go to Recycling dump if no one wants them)
now all i have to do is unblock the printhead:he
They are not exactly plug and play
but if you follow the correct install sequence they work fine
briefly
with printer off
install printer driver, do not click do a test print
plug in USB end of adaptor to PC, windows should recognise this and install driver.
connect adaptor to printer
go to...

Ok will do but it could be some time as i don't do that much printing these days and i have 4 other printers to keep using
the redsetter is new from octojet this is the first printer i have ever had with chipped carts

I have just read a newer post on this ( and you have linked to this thread ) and the OP said that the printer rejects the cart with the flashing light, but with mine it still prints ok, no yellow warning lights, and the on-screen ink display is correct.

All the carts are OEM and i have tried refitting them without success so im stumped as to why this is happening
think i will just wait and see what happens when they really are out of ink. :(

Well i suppose i should have said that i had checked, and the two cartridges flashing are full to the same level as the new Canon originals
i have only done a few test prints as yet
so is it the optical sensor that triggers the red led flash or the chip?
as i have not had one of these chipped...

i have been given a IP5200 and after a few weeks soaking the print
head its working great
One thing i dont understand is the relation between the red leds on
the cartridge/printhead and the ink volume shown in the maintenence
box popup

2 carts...

Thats does sound an almost risk free idea

i have now two dead printers, one good print head, and lost the will to live. :)
