Resetting Chips Or Using Cartridges With ARC Chips

I can buy a chip resetter and reset my cartridge chips, or, I could by cartridges with ARC chips and fill and refill these cartridges. Has anyone any thoughts regarding the merits or de-merits of these two options? Thanks PS. Printer: Epson Stylus SX100.

    Lexmark No 31. Blackening Ink

I made up some 'black' ink using yellow, magenta, and cyan and filled the black cell. But I added too much cyan and now have bluish print rather than black. Has anyone any tips for making the print darker (ideal black). The cartidge is close to full. Thanks A Ps. I have yellow, magenta, and...

Refilling Lexmark's no 31 and flooding

Hi, I recently refilled no. 31. The black appears to be flodding. I put a couple of cc's less than the maximum volume to take account of of any ink that remains (black and colours). I don't think that I have overfilled the cartridge (no sign at filling). Any idea what has cuased the black to...

    Claeaning and storing cartridges

What about pharmacist's point about contaminating the sponges? Inkfill sites that I have seen, that sell solvent, advocate soaking the head in the solvent to remove stubborn blackages, no mention of contamination? Thanks A

    Claeaning and storing cartridges

Hi, Thanks for the tips. First question. Why would you not inject some solvent into the cartridge to dissolve any blockage, then purge? Second question. Is there a good DIY way of cleaning colour cart printheads. Obviously, one could let the printer do a head clean, but if I wanted to do more...

    Claeaning and storing cartridges

How would you flush out solvent. Would you inject air into the cartridge and push the solvent out through the printhead? best wishes. A

    Claeaning and storing cartridges

Thanks for the response. What do you think of this idea. Bear in mind that I do not know the history of the empty catridge. After soaking the head, injecting say one ml of headcleaner (solvent) into each of LC, LM, and B, then leaving say for a few hours, then holding a damp cloth on the head...

    Claeaning and storing cartridges

Thanks for the response. I am buying a used no 31 which is advertised as empty. I don't know anything about its history, so I plan to allow the printhead to soak in some warm water for say one hour, then refill the cartridge (it is colour), then place a tape over the printhead and store. For...

    Claeaning and storing cartridges

Thanks for the reponses. Cartidges are Lexmark, Nos 4, 5, 31 If a little water is left behind on running under a warm tap surely on using the cartridge the ink would just flow and remove any remaining water. In addition, the ink contains substantial water. Would the action of a tap be likely...

    Claeaning and storing cartridges

Hi, Couple of questions For a stubborn blockage could one run warm water from the tap over the printhead, or could this damage the circuitry? People have said that after refilling one should never put anthing over the printhead. Yet if I buy a cartridge it always has some tape over the...

    Photocartridge and colour cartridge

Hi, I understand that my inks are water based, so dilution with say 70% distilled water should be fine. Because of your warning, I 'll try and check on the solvent used in the ink. It could be mixed, but if if it contains substantail water, I don't think there will be a problem The FAQ's, as...

    Photocartridge and colour cartridge

It just occured to me that different manufacturers of photoinks might produce light cyan and light magenta of different shades?
