- no , not really, it's a pretty extreme case but not unusual within the US.S. legal system - something like that is possible, and people exploit it. I just remember a case when I was in a company internal legal committee, where a 6 year old boy stumbled over a calculator laying on the ground, and the calculator company was sued for an exorbitant amount of health cost for a broken arm and a possible lifetime rent for medical impairment from that accident . Some people work together with a lawyer supporting such claims and getting a decent share at the end........Unbelievable.
