Because Storm Bram’s damaged one of the lantern arms on my garden light, I was forced to bring forwards my plans for a new Lamp Stand to replace the now aging and damaged Johnny 5..

So here she is, I managed to get her installed and wired up on the 21st Dec.

I put all the extras onto her after Christmas and powered her on, and doesn’t she look a threat.. :ya

This one is better built than any of the others and she will stand many a storm without suffering the faith of her predecessors, thanks mainly to Johnny5 because I learned a lot from the way she stood tall against nearly everything that came her way..

I did this new girl up in white using PLA+ filament to stop the effects from the sun and reinforced the lamp arms to withstand everything except maybe space junk impact, now all I got to do is give her a name.. Any bright suggestions..

That's amazing!

Any guesses on how many KG of filament and how many hours of print-time?

Names...

As far as the Filament used, that’s just about a guess, I ordered 18 rolls at the start and had two in stock and ended up with 3 left when finished.. PLA+

But as far as time is concerned, well that I can’t possibly count, because there were weeks on end on the designing side and weeks on the printer side too, which I had slowed down to make them more manageable..

The time was irrelevant anyway because I was enjoying myself to much, I had them running most nights and only checked to see if they had finished in the mornings, but there was a bit of a rush towards the end.. I reckon it was all worth it..

One silly thing I'm really liking about my H2S is that it tracks total print hours. Fun to see it build-up over time.

That is one impressive print :thumbsup

Of course the old one would not have been damaged if you had printed it in TPU. OK got my hat and coat and am leaving the building 😆

Your perfectly right, and I could have also casted in metal, but instead I choose to use PLA, silly me..:th

How about "Hatty"? it's female and seems a reasonable name for Johnny's successor based on your forum name :)

That’s the one thing I never worry about, so long as it’s what I’ve planned for and it works.. The odd reprint sometimes happens too..

A little story.. A bird watcher in a hedge notices a farmer walking his pigs to the market to sell every day, and each day it was the same routine, up and back..

So he asked the farmer why he didn’t take them in his trailer and save all that time going up and back, The farmer taught about it for a moment and replied “What’s time to a pig anyway”..
