Just wondering if it's worth spending the £40 on inks or is the printhead dead ?? Thank you.
The only way to be certain is to get a set of OEM carts and run a deep cleaning cycle, then a nozzle check, if you have no improvement in the various colours then the print head is most likely fried, whatever you do Don’t print any test sheets until you get a perfect nozzle print.. if the head is damaged then the only other choice is the dumpster.. (Heads are Unavailable and non-repairable..)

P.S. The reason for buying OEM inks are because they are the best at cleaning out any nozzle clogs..

Hi.
I will be getting an old Pro-1 soon. All the information that I have is that there were no errors last it was used and that the printer has not been used for a very long time (years). Thank god I found this thread as I likely would have made many of the same mistakes as others.
What would be the best way to go about potentially reviving this printer step by step given that I have not yet done anything to the printer?

My best advice to you is…

Don’t walk, run away from this great deal if you have any sense, to get this printer to work perfectly would very marginal, it has a reputation of breaking an owners heart and emptying their wallet..

Your chances of success are less than 10% and with odds like that, you’d be better giving this idea a big miss, save your money for something that you know will work, this printer is not for the faint hearted, ask yourself why it hasn’t been running in years.. !
P.S. They do well as a very heavy door stop..
