Bought a used Pixma Pro-1 (after reading this forum I realize my mistake!).

Powers on.
Normal noises, stops goes to 8 blinking orange lights.
using “My Printer” I can see all the inks are empty, ink doors are locked.
manually Removed the side panels and opened the doors
switch the inks for a different set (used but full + a couple of new) canon OEM.
when I did this I looked inside with a touch no sign of ink leak in the cart area, one cart is tight to insert (far right one).

powered on same issue.

powered Off, pulled the plug, popped the ink out.
powered on, all good, tells me no ink, able to open the ink doors.
click the ink back in, cleaning cycle starts. Completes all happy.
try to print a nozzle check, back to the B500 error.

I have tried the above cycle a couple of times and can run a cleaning cycle, but always trying to print the nozzle check gets me back to b500.

thoughts?

options I am considering…
1. Run a system clean
2. Keep running deep cleans each day for a week
3. Pull the head and soak it

best option… Wait for The Hat!

Normal noises, stops goes to 8 blinking orange lights.
Let’s start with your first issue, 8 single blinking LED lights, that means your waste ink cartridge is almost full, now the only way to get around that is to hold in the Resume button for 10 seconds and that will clear that message and you can carry on for a short while.. (Error 1701)..

But both led lights blinking 8 times (B500 error) is a different animal, that’s an ink supply issue, and you may have a leak in the ink tubing somewhere, in the ink tank area or the print head connection, check both.. (Not sufficient pressure in the system)..
options I am considering…
1. Run a system clean
2. Keep running deep cleans each day for a week
3. Pull the head and soak it
1.. Don’t run a system clean..
2.. Don’t keep running Deep cleans daily or weekly..
3.. The print head can only be removed with proper procedures..

Summary:- check that all your ink tanks are installed properly, that’s all you can do..
You cannot trick or fool the printer, so it’s pointless to try, and you might be better off calling it a day..
Main Priory:-, Clear all the Error messages First, and then you may have a chance..

Definitely is a B500 that is the error prompt when connected to a computer.

I traced the ink lines inside and the right angle elbows are not full of ink on a few lines. photos attached. Cannot see any ink leaking any where.

thoughts?
