The 3D space is buzzing right now over this new 3D printer: Bambu Lab X1

It's a kickstarter, so kinda risky... but seems a bit more legit than a lot of stuff on the platform.

I'm a big fan of this channel and have a lot of confidence in her review of the printer.

I'm terribly frugal, but this printer is tempting me!

This new printer is the dogs biscuits and seems to work with incredible speed..:ep

So Nifty, why would you want another printer, except for its speed it works the same as all the others, and that’s the one thing I’ve never found wanting, time is free but wasted filament still costs money.

When I printed my lamp standard it took weeks to finish, but it still fell over, and if I had used this new printer, it would have taken only days to finish, but I still would have got the same results, just a lot faster..

If you have the space for it, then indulge yourself, its only money after all, frugal or not, personal pleasure is priceless, if I had the space I might think about it..:)

High speed and high quality are opposite terms in 3D world, specially at an affordable price. Besides, it's not only the machine, but the filament that marks the limits on how fast and accurately we can print.
Sorry, but miracle is a word banned from my dictionary.
Let the usual bloggers do their 'fair', 'objective' and 'nonsponsored' reviews on youtube. Let our Enders and Prusas print for real..

Valid points / questions! I like that it "just works" (out of the box), and works fast. Seems like it has all the "cool stuff" all built in, basically: a form of Klipper and octoprint like features + huge touch-screen + direct drive + easy bed-leveling, etc.)
If you have the space for it, then indulge yourself, its only money after all, frugal or not, personal pleasure is priceless, if I had the space I might think about it..:)
Yup! That's the kind of stuff I keep telling myself, but it's hard to rewire 40+ years of programming. LOL!

While I generally tend to agree with this, it's clear (by all the test prints the various reviewers have done) that the company has implemented some of the best features out there and improved on them, to create a great mix of speed and quality.

... all that said, I don't think I can get myself to pull the trigger on it, at least not while it's still in a kickstarter.

If it’s too good to be true, then ! !.. Soup kitchens do free dinners..
P.S. But all’s said and done …Your young lady hasn’t been wrong yet.. Good reviews..

The way it uses Lidar / scanning to do a test print and evaluate extrusion, etc. is really incredible!

Ya, I'm very tempted, but two big things holding me back:

1) I do enjoy tinkering with my printer, and having a $250 unit that I'm not scared to break... makes that easier to do.
2) The Ender 3's have infinitely available cheap / quick replacement parts. I worry about getting locked into a specific company's ecosystem (which is why I avoid Apple products).

The kickstarter discount is good, but not amazing, so maybe I'll wait until all the first-back of units are sold, tested, reviewed, etc., and then reconsider.

Ya, stuff like this is incredible!

Imagine 5 years from now when more competitors are doing similar stuff, bigger improvements, lower prices. We may be getting closer to a time where more non-tinkerers will be able to run a 3D printer without much hassle:

That’s the one thing I like about the 3D printers, being able to alter and change things at a whim, tinkering is all part of having a 3D printer, because todays inkjet printer are Hoors to mess with without getting yourself into all sorts of trouble..

Fiddling is great but fully automatic is terrible, just imagine it, sometime in the future humans could be born with no brain, because everything is already pre-planned for us..

P.S. I find the availability of parts are a huge advantage..
