I'm having a scan issue with our new Brother DCP-1612W not scanning entire scan bed.

It is cutting off roughly 3-4mm off the top.

I am pushing the photograph up to the top edge of the scanner:

This is how the top of the photograph scans:

This is what it's missing:

These are the scan settings (defaults, basically):

Previewing the scan (PreScan) doesn't show the full photograph, either.

I actually had a similar issue with my previous Epson WorkForce WF-2810DWF.

From what you have shown and what your describing, I reckon the scanner is at fault, it looks to me like the scan head is not calibrated properly or the scan head was not locked properly on delivery and has taken a knock..

Contact Brother Service for assistance..

P.S. did you unlock the head yourself after unpacking.. ?

I just took it out the box.

I didn't have to do anything.

Well I reckon it got a knock between the shop and your house and now its needs recalibrating, Contact Brother for advice.. See what they say..
I used a ruler to draw a line on the far edge of each side of an A4 piece of paper and scanned it.

This is what it was produced:

I think you're right. It appears the scan head isn't quite right.

Not only has it missed three of the edges, the one it captured isn't straight.

I'll contact Brother 👍🏻
