Does anyone know when this printer is going to be available?
I ordered from Park Cameras on 27th January - still no sign!
Also, after a long string of emails, Epson has refused to honour the cashback deal that was available at the time of purchase. I tried to explain that I had not submitted a claim because I was waiting for delivery. I thought I would need paperwork from the printer to make the claim! Very disappointing service!

That's a really bad service not to honor the cashback deal, but yes - there was and is an overall shortage of chips, and printers are as much affected as lots of other products - washing machines - cars whatever........

Thank you for the reply.
It's good to know I'm not alone in thinking the service is very poor!

What has Park Cameras got to say about your situation, after all it is they that should be answering and honouring their commitment to you their customer.

I’d talk to them directly and not Epson, the shortages in the UK are also caused by Brexit..

Thanks for your reply.
I contacted Park Cameras but they are awaiting stock from Epson. They have had 2 delivery dates come and go without supply!
The issue with the cashback is purely an Epson issue as it was an offer from them - one which led me to buy the printer, because of the savings, only for them to renege on the deal because I hadn't submitted the paperwork for the printer because they hadn't delivered it!
You can probably imagine the emails that went back and forth!!!

What were the conditions - the fineprint - for the cashback - claiming it latest after a week (?) of purchase - or after delivery ? or ?? or latest before a specific date like before March 31 ?

Thank you for your interest in this matter!

It was by a specific date (02/03/2022) - I didn't actually make a claim but contacted them just after the deadline (14/03/2022) to say that I was still waiting for delivery but hoped that they would still honour the deal - they said no.
I contacted their customer support only to be told the same thing despite my explanation of lack of delivery.
Still a negative response so I asked to be contacted by somebody at management level rather than anonymous "Epson Europe" - here is the response I got:-

Thank you for contacting Epson,

Please note that this promotion ended on 02.03.2022.
As your product was purchased on 27.01.2022 ,you were supposed to register your details and submit your claim or contact us within 30 days.

We encourage our customers to contact us when/if any difficulties occur so that we are able to sort them out as soon as possible, ensuring that they will receive the cashback. Regretfully we have no records of your previous enquiries since 16.03.2022 when your issue was brought to our attention.

This promotion has ended and any further uploads are no longer possible.

We would like to thank you for your understanding and apologise for any inconvenience caused.

If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact our customer service team at:

epson@promotion-support.com

Yours sincerely,

Epson Europe

To which I replied:-

How can you possibly thank me for my understanding when I DON’T UNDERSTAND?????

This whole business is a shambles!

Eight weeks after placing my order for your product I still do not have the printer!!!! No apologies; no explanations!!!!

Despite requesting contact from someone at management level I just get impersonal, repetitive emails from “Epson Europe!”

NO discussion about my very valid explanation that I did not contact you before the deadline because I did not know there was an issue and I was waiting for you to deliver my printer!!!

So, there is NO understanding on my part.

I will be contacting Watchdog, on the BBC; I will be reporting this affair to “Which” and I will investigate what other steps I can take to publicise your appalling customer service!!!!!

I have been contacting
epson@promotion-support.com; a complete misnomer. What support??? I have had none!

As previously stated this printer is costing me well over £100 more than I expected due to you failing to give me my expected cashback of £75 and the £53 for new inks for the old printer which the Epson was meant to replace but has STILL NOT BEEN DELIVERED!!!

YOURS,

A VERY UNHAPPY CUSTOMER WHO WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER EPSON PRODUCT AGAIN!!!

As you can see, I was less than pleased! Once I had calmed down, I'm afraid I didn't contact any of the organisations as I decided it would be a waste of time but I do feel they deserve a lot of negative publicity for such poor customer service!!!!!

As it stands, even if Park Cameras find a printer for you in the coming weeks, Epson are not prepared to stand over their cashback deal, maybe it’s time to consider another printer option.. ?

I bought two printers from Park Cameras and always found them very helpful in the past..

Yes, I agree that Park Cameras are a good, helpful company.
The problem with an alternative printer is matching the criteria:-
A3+ capabilities
Ink tanks (much cheaper to run than my old Canon cli 526 cartridges)
Good quality prints
Wireless printing capabilities
Mac and Windows compatability (I can't print wirelessly from my new Mac on the old Canon MG5250!)

Yes ink Tanks are much cheaper to run, but they can also be troublesome to maintain and the longevity of their inks is an absolute joke, it will fade in weeks, and printing large A3 prints using Wireless connection can also cause an awful lot of printing issues.

O’ and don’t get me started on attempting to print on the new Mac O/S... Good Luck..
