Hi,

I have an (inkexpress co uk) CISS that was working fine for quite some time on my Epson PX800FW. Than 'suddenly' it began streaking. Nozzle check is fine apart from two black lines (0/180) that are slightly faint and are not where you would expect them to be.

The horizontal streaks are in all different colours as you can see in this scan, not printing blanks. I've had black 'clogs' that showed banding due to lack of ink at predictable intervals in regard to the nozzle check failures, this seems "different" (colour streaks, not just missing colours, and can be different coloured streaks in fairly even areas in unpredictable patterns). There is no streaking in clear white areas of pictures, so it doesn't seem to be dirt of some kind streaking the prints as it is fed. There is no streaking in the white borders separating 4 pictures on one A4, however you see some faint excess streaking/ink drops of blue and magenta continuing 'past' the right hand margin of a picture in a print (as you see in the second crop)

The problems started just before the printer began complaining that the waste ink pads where out of service, I replaced them with a waste ink container that collects all the waste ink just fine. If you see the amount of ink it uses with a cleaning cycle you can understand why those pads where already full after merely a (calm) year of work. If you see the amount of ink it uses with a cleaning cycle and see that the pads where already full you cannot understand how the head ever can get clogged. I've disabled the automatic cleaning option for now because all it seems to do is suck ink.

I've reinstalled the printer with the latest software and latest drivers, no change there. Did many cleaning cycles, printhead alignments,... nothing. For now it seems that the printer is printing extra magenta and blue for no reason.

I've waisted huge amounts of ink and paper already but even worse : time. So if someone could help me you can't imagine how happy you could make me ;-)

(I'm sorry that the URL's need : added after http, as a new member I'm not allowed to post that one-picture-says-more-than-1000-words-picture yet ;-)
