I currently have a canon MP 610 which I am well pleased with but am on the outlook for a second printer but there does not seem to be many MP 610 around at the right price just now. I Have seen the IP 4500 advertised and whilst it is an older model of printer is it worth going for or should I stick to keeping a eye open for a MP 610 ?
I am not interested in wireless connection or scanning but I do need something that prints photos as good as the MP 610. (A4 size) and prints disks
I also assume the IP 4500 uses the same carts as the MP 610 & my redsetter could be used to reset the carts for the IP 4500 as well.
It would be helpful if someone could confirm the points I have made.

Thanks

I'd go for the iP4500. It uses the same cartridges as your MP610 and may even have the same print head. The only real difference is that the iP4500 is just a printer whereas the MP610 is an all-in-one. The iP4500 can print double-sided which is a really nice feature. I didn't know the iP4500 was still available. You should grab a couple.

Yes, Canon iP5300/ MP810/ iP4500/ MP610/ MX850 are using the same printhead QY60075. They are using the PGI-5 and CLI-8 cartridges. Chip restter is available for around $20.

You cannot find the new iP4500 in retail store now. But, I have seen lots of used iP4500 on Kijiji. If you are lucky, you may find new-in-box iP4500.
