Half-way through a print job of a pdf with text and graphics it just stopped with the support code 7500, and saying 'Printer needs repair, switch off and unplug. See the manual, and contact a service centre. '
Is this fatal, terminal?
I'm wondering if a service centre would even look at it, as I've had it a while.
Or is Canon wanting to charge for a simple repair I can do.
I did do a search of the forum, but could not get any hits on the code 7500. :(
I've just had the brilliant idea of checking the manual [DOH!] - not helpful:

Is it headed for landfill? :(
Thanks,
John

From what I could find, on some Canon printers the 7500 error code could indicate a cartridge chip issue. Try cleaning the contacts on both the printer and cartridge contacts with some isopropyl alcohol.
