I report how I resolved an Ink Leak Sensor Error 034831 on an SC-P900. 1) How I triggered the error: I flushed the printer using an alternative black-and-white ink set via the Epson Service Program (‘Ink Charge’). This flushed the existing colour ink from the tubes and refilled the tubes with black and white ink (as intended). 2) Warning: This command is intended to fill an empty printer with ink. If there is already ink in the system, too much ink will enter the waste ink tank, causing it to overflow. As a result, some ink may get onto/into the ink leak sensor beneath the waste ink tank. The printer detects the liquid and reports the error (“Ink Leak error 2”). After that, the printer will no longer start up, in my case displaying error 034831. The repair costs around €500, depending on the repair shop in Germany. 3) What I did: I left the printer alone for six weeks. The ink apparently dried during that time. When I switched it on again, the error had disappeared. 4) To avoid this problem in my second attempt, I drilled a small hole into the Waste Ink Tank, removed the pads from the inside and pulled a small hose (aquarium shop, 0,4 cm diameter) through the hole and let the ink flow into a small bottle. In addition I sealed the lid of the tank with tape and the hole with some glue. Now I could use the "Ink Charge" without problems. I collected around 100 ml ink during this flushing in the bottle. Happy printing!
