I heard ad of new epsons, so looked here in hopes of ditching my HPc309a. Other than that I was going to look for printers researched on this forum in craig's list or yard sales.

Pharmacist just posted this: http://www.nifty-stuff.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=7992 about the new line and possible great photo printing.

Anyone know if it is refillable or cis able?
Thanks

I would think not yet as its only new but given time they will be available in most places. (Say 6 Months) :)

Rule of thumb...

If it's brand new, expect the following:
1. The chips will be new/different
2. Even if not a new chip, the firmware in the printers will almost certainly be programmed to refuse known chips from third party consumables
3. It takes time for anything new to be studied and work-arounds to be figured out.

So, don't bank on it just yet... Interesting though...

Any clues of what to look for in yard sales? Shop for machines using certain carts, etc?

I always take my cellphone with me and Google anything I find interesting. If it's an older print just Google the model number and see if they have any aftermarket stuff for it like Ciss or refillable cart.
