In this forum and in the user's guide it states you can "release the function for detecting the remaining ink level" by pressing the Stop/Reset button for at least 5 seconds. I've tried several times without any success. Can anyone help me figure this out? I use this printer heavily for faxing and I'm out of my office a lot. When any tank gets empty enough to get the low ink warning, the printer won't print the incomming fax. It sends it to memory instead. Getting several long faxes out of memory is not the easiest thing to do. Disabling the ink level function would be a big improvement for me.

Thanks to anyone who might want to help.

You have to wait until the printer tells you to do it. Before that happens pressing the resume button for 5 seconds is not recognized by the printer for anything. Just wait until the printer says Canon will not be iable for printer malfunctions caused by refilled ink tanks used by the printer. That will only happen after hundreds of low ink warning messages were ignored.
