I have the Lexmark Prospect Pro205 which uses the 100XLA cartriges and the black is running out. I contacted Lexmark 3 times, the first told me to use a dye based ink, the second told me use a pigment ink, and the third told me to use a pigment ink for the black and dye based for the colors. Now I am really confused. Which one do I do, because I dont want to mess up the cartrige and have to buy another one. I suspect the third person I talked to was correct but I want to be sure before I go and buy any ink. And any help on which brand (ink) I could use would be helpful also. Thank you.

Recently I have seen several writeups about overriding the chip on Lexmark 100XL Inkjet Cartridges by scratching through a connection on its chip, allowing it to be refilled and utilized. However, the directions given aren't very clear to me. Has anyone completed the procedure sucessfully and if so can you offer more detailed directions? I will appreciate any advice.

Thanks,
