IP3000, iP4000, iP5000 case design?

I am looking for any articles or information about the case design of these printers.
How many different Canon printers were marketed in this same box design?

Had a friend ask me if her iP4000 was designed to look like an antique jewelry box.

The 8500 also had the breadbox design. The newer models have a updated breadbox design. I personally love the design, it's neat and clean plus I can put things on top of the printer since it's flat.

Thanks KnightCrawler I have been reading some of your posts here and at Steves place.

Wow only four iP models released in the US with the sleek box design. Canon went to a good bit of effort to make these printers not look like other printers. Just looking at the printer you can see this was a well thought out design.

Ron 350,... There is one you missed and that is the iP5200. I personally think the iP5000 printer was the best looking printer that Canon has ever designed. Some of the new whites ones in the bread box design are also great.

Although the iP5200 is similar, the ip3000, 4000, 5000 and 8500 share identical cases. They all use the BCI-6 ink cartridges (no chip).

rehardwick,...Boy is my face red.... you are absolutely right. I have a very large folder of Service Manuals and Parts Catalogs for almost all of the Canon printers and when I first saw this post I thought I had seen one other printer similar to the iP5000. So I scanned through the folders for each printer model number and in my folder for the iP5200 I opened up the part catalog and sure enough it looks just like the iP5000, so that is why I made the post to this thread. When you post came tonight I went back and checked and I had mistakenly put the Parts Catalog for the iP5000 in the iP5200 folder. I never read the cover, just jumped to the picture,... and of course it looks like the iP5000,... that is what it was. LOL>

Actually the iP5200 is just a clean version of the iP4200 with Wireless support,... and of course they had to re-design the front and top cover one more time.
