I have been refilling my old printer which uses HP 45 and 23 carts using normal syringe and a priming tool. I have seen posts describing filling through the head and thereby eliminating the need to prime because of the lack of air in the printhead. Can I use my priming tool to fill the cart by injecting through the tool (of course, no needle)?

Thanks in advance for any responses.

If your priming tool is similar to the "snap and fill" from R Jet Tek, it should work fine. Pull a vacuum first then fill with ink. Then invert the cartridge and pull out any remaining air.

The tool is nice but you honestly dont need it. While filling with the needle squeeze both sides of the cartridge. After replacing the set screw once again squeeze the cartridge. You will notice air bubbles and ink coming from the top of the printhead. Continue doing this until you do not see any bubbles.
