Sorry for the delay in answering your question. The Brother printers that I have (admittedly the office variety) seem to be built like the proverbial Sherman Tank. As long as you change out the ink carts when needed and not use the fastest print speed, these printers will print as much as you need -- the biggest disadvantage is that the paper trays only hold 100-150 sheets of paper (depending on model). I have printed 180 page documents without the printer causing any problems (other than having to add paper in the middle of the print job). Very occasionally the printer will draw two pages at once, but I would say that only happens about once every 2-3 months. If you print photos on photo paper, I suggest using the "Fine" setting for photos that you want to keep, the draft mode does sometimes leave white lines in photos. It is easy to set the printing mode to what you need each time you print.
