Hi everyone

I have an R1800 that is completly dead, no lights, nothing. Seems like its the power supply module.
I'm sure its covered somewhere on the board..but are these powr modules prone to failure? I readsomething about capacitors that flip?

I have a circuit diagram and a background in electronics .and a soldering iron .....anyone know which capacitors?

Or ..is it something entirly different?

Part 2

I read somewhere that the R1800 printhead is the same as the pro 4800. can anyone confirm this is so. Could an R1800 printhead work in a Pro 4800

Thanks i'm really enjoying all the info here

Thanks cls, I did wonder, its a shame it could have been a source of cheaper parts...oh well...I guess I should have known that epson would have that covered!

Thanks Peter, that link leads on to a lot of useful stuff and of course the power modules are very similar in design. Its quite a few years since I was pulling out components, but it would be satisfying to repair rather than replace.
