Hi,
I have an Epson 830 printer that hasn't been used for about 6 months. Until then it worked well. Now when I try to use it I can't get the black to print at all. I have tried cleaning using the Epson utility lots of times, I have also changed the black cartridge but still no sign at all of black on the page.

Is there any way of dismantaling and cleaning the head? Or is there an accepted method for curing this problem apart from 'throw the thing away and buy a new one as they are cheap enough'.

I have no problem with taking it apart if I knew what I was looking for.

Any thoughts greatly accepted.
Cheers
Lenny

Had another look at dismantling the print head. It wasn't so hard. Then I sat the print head in some turps (on some kitchen roll) for 10 minutes. Splashed it around a bit, gave it a bit of a rub, dried it, inserted it back in to the printer and run about 7 head cleans and it is now printing as good as new!
