I read a post somewhere about being able to modify an Epson printer so that the waste ink can be diverted to an external container instead of being pumped to the 'Waste Inks' pads.
I would like to do this because I have no idea how to change the pads on my 1290 (I am told that this is a major task)
Does any body have the details of how to do this please?

It's possible I might (given that my life seems to revolve around waste ink now :))

The information you need is available from the various links (click on the icons) here:
http://www.octoink.co.uk/search/epson_printers.php?model=photo_1290

From that you can then find guides, resetters and a bunch of other stuff...

Any problems, let me know... :)

Thanks for that info and the links.
Certainly answered my question and I will now have a go at converting my Waste Ink to an external method.
Cheers!
