My disappointment with this printer deepens. I've owned this Eco Tank L18050 (my first eco tank) almost three years and it's been pretty reliable up until this week. For several days it was reporting a paper jam and I couldn't see a problem, so I shut it off and unplugged it and it'd startup OK. Finally yesterday I saw a strip of plastic and shut it down. The strip of plastic is a support runner for the ink feed lines to the printhead, the lines fold over themselves as the printhead moves back and forth. The plastic runner has a crude fastening system and the fastener had come undone and allowed the runner to drop down and impede the paper. It looks like the ink feed lines need to be placed on the runner and close the fastener again. Maybe superglue it shut. If there ever is a need to remove it in the future it looks like something easy to replace.
I thought about having someone come to my home and make the repairs and then I watched a YouTube video. LOL! I got it opened up and put the ink lines back in the runner and closed the two plastic retainer clips and I don't know if they're going to stay closed on their own. In the middle photo there's another plastic strip and flat cable on the right, very close to the plastic runner and the feed lines.
I think the runner might have been dislodged by the plastic strip on the right. That caused one of the anchors to dislodge allowing more movement and eventually the plastic runner fell down in the paper path. I need to come up with a good idea to secure the two retainers on the runner. It's a real loose fit that won't bind the rubber ink lines. I have some thin duct tape that's really sticky. I'm think I'll cut a couple of small strips and wrap the tab lock, to keep it from popping open again.
