Canon Pixma MP530 question

Hey, I hope you can help.

My MP530 was out of ink. It takes an 9 black, yellow, magenta and cyan, and a 5 black.

I replaced the 8 black while I ordered more ink for the rest. It will not print. Will it not print unless all of the tanks are full? Can I not just print with the 8black somehow?

Are you trying to print faxes, or just direct prints from the scanner or pc?

You will still need a new PGI-5BK cartridge (or to refill the existing one) to continue printing..
