Hi, I'm new here so be gentle :)
I have a Canon Pixma iP 5200 and up to now have been very happy with it, recently however it started playing up and will not print black any more even though I have put in all new Canon carts. (the old ones where not completely empty but I took no chance) I tried changing the paper type to photo and it printed great but not on normal paper.
Could one (or more) of you fine chaps tell me what to do and how to do it? eg extract the print head if I need to.
Thanks

Epson, Canon, HP... A "few"
To take the head out is easy... just remove the cartridges, lift up the retaining lever and then gently grip the printhead and lift it out..

Sounds like you have a clogged head though and that requires the oft discussed printhead cleaning thread
