After getting the message everytime (8) .... I thought I'd replace the 8Magenta and the Black 5 PGBK ...
So I went to Walmart and spent $100 incl tax ..... got all 5 .....
But there was one thing I hadn't tried yet ........ ( I had already re-glued slightly the magenta chip into place which had fallen off but couldn't find a problem with PGBK) .... and that was to clean the INSIDE of the printer where the contact with the chip was made ....... SO, I got a QTip and alcohol and clean the inside where the cartridge came in contact with the cartrideg slot ....... there apparently was some ink on the Magenta one ....
Once inserted and read by the printer . all was HAPPYLAND once again.
S, for those having a problem with the cartrdges not being recognized ... perhaps cleaning both contacts could help .... it did for me ............... and now I have an extra NEW set fora real emergency
