Im getting hold of fairly new hardly used iP4600 later this week and intend to get a CISS to match up with it. Having being used to Epson printers with a CISS and the waste pipe extracted into a waste tank. I was wondering if it is possible to locate the waste pipe on the 4600 and lead it out to waste tank.
Cheers

Canon printers are not known for having successful external waste ink tanks. You can read about my aborted attempt here.

The MP780 is one of the last Canon printers that was solidly built. I doubt that the iP4600 would work any better with an external waste ink tank.

Silverstreak..

I wouldnt be too concerned about the waste pipe on the 4600. Your problem will be getting the CISS to work trouble free on the 4600, as Canon have put quite a lot into making CISS difficult on their newer models. Get your CISS working first then think about waste later. Hope this helps..

Hi

Im pleased to report that my Canon iP4600 is working well with its new CISS from Citylink Express (Fotorite) Took about an hour to satisfy myself that the pipework was fitted the right way round with no snags while the printhead was in motion. Overall a happy man

Cheers Bob
