I have a 4 year old i960 that (suddenly) cannot correctly print photos when anything other than "plain paper" is selected. If ANY Photo Paper option is chosen, the prints turn out saturated with magenta.

If "plain paper" is selected, the prints are adequate but lack vibrancy and depth - even on photo paper.

This is true regardless of the image source, computer or OS (Vista or XP). At Canon's suggestion, I've removed, cleaned, and re-seated the printhead, cleaned, deep cleaned and nozzle checked. I've never used anything but OEM inks (which I still have lots of). Still magenta mess.

Any ideas? I'm greatful for any help or direction - I really don't want to pitch this thing!

Thanks!!

Paul

do you have the M and PM carts reversed? On plain paper the PM and PC carts aren't used and a light magenta printout suggests this possibility. Look at your 6M and 6 PM bars - the PM looks a bit more vibrant than the M.

No, I'm afraid that the carts are correctly placed. Thanks...
