I'm refilling my black ink, PGI520 using German method

I've got the needle in - I can see it at the end
When I put ink in, it leaks out from the top of the cartridge (I'm holding upside down when refilling)
+ The main ink outletflows out with ink

What's going wrong?

The only thing I'd say maybe could be a problem is that my hole I bored is a little too big
It was my first cartridge filled

At the moment, I'd say I'd fill in and 20% comes out dripping

Thanks

Omar

Presuming the tip of needle is indeed in ink chamber, you may experience a backward flow into sponge side as described here http://www.nifty-stuff.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=6971

For me keeping the cartridge (almost) vertical and needle bevel facing away from wall solved the issue.

ghwellsjr and barfl2 have another solution.

Pull the needle back 3-4 mm before injecting ink, otherwise it will go back into the sponge.

If it is coming out of the maze on the top of the cart then you need to clear that before it is dried out, otherwise the cart can't "breathe" and will cause problems in the printer.

Some blow carefully on the maze and that works, but I found I had to purge the cart in order to get it working again. That
lesson taught me never to overfill, which is one of the main causes of ink leaking out during a refill.
