I've not visited this forum for a while, and I'm surprised the color scheme has completely changed. For me, I see a lot of black text over less-black-background, for example, in the threads of conversations and the window I'm typing at this moment. I can't believe this is what everybody else...
I have a similar problem recently. A few days ago, I replaced the PGBK with a tank I bought from Precision Ink. It was empty so I filled it. The printing worked well.
Today I can't print any black and white document. When I did a nuzzle check, the entire PGBK row was blank. My printer...
Great!!!
I currently have a syringe without any needle. My cli-220 ink outlet is small compared with the video's. Is it a good idea to use this combination to dribble ink?
I saw in YouTube a filling method called "dribble method." It's the simplest refilling method I've seen so far. The drawback is one refill takes 2 minutes, which is not too bad at all. I wonder anybody has tried it. My question is - if ink can be dribbled into the cartridge, will it...
I don't have pumice stone. Alcohol swab got most of the ink out of my fingers. Eye make-up remover got almost all the remaining ink out.
The tiny hole I used for refill was on top of ink chamber, not the sponge chamber. I sealed it with play dough, and can see ink in the ink chamber...
Thank you for your answer. Before you answered, I modified my question because I tried a different generic cartridge. So I will repeat my question here.
This time I can print, although it complains the ink level is low because the light flashed when the cartridge is inserted. I tried to...
Yes, I found out my printer doesn't accept black in the place for cyan.
I refilled a generic cyan cartridge with black ink. (I know it's better to refill an OEM cartridge, but I want to save my only OEM cyan cartridge for cyan later) The cartridge flashes when it's inserted, and I suppose...
Right now I'm not using any pigmented ink. Even PGBK cartridge is filled with dye black ink. Sounds like I can go ahead and put a black dye ink cartridge in the place for cyan.
Thanks for the warning. I currently have a lot of black ink and can refill a black cartridge and put it in the place for Cyan. I suppose this will prevent the print head from deteriorating, right? A more wild idea - What if I fill the cyan cartridge with water?
I had the print head sit for 12 hours. Put it back to printer and did a deep cleaning of PGBK by mistake, then a nozzle check. Then I did a regular cleaning of all colors and a nozzle check. This is what I observe.
1. Both nozzle checks show horizontal strips with magenta, while it was...
The nozzle check of my MX860 shows a lot of broken grids for PGBK. I refilled the cartridge with dye black ink and it didn't improve much. So I soaked the print head in original windex for 24 hours, with additional water to replenish the evaporated solution. Now, what should I do? Should I...
I have an old and dry canon PGI-220bk cartridge that had pigmented ink. Now I want to refill it with dye ink.
I was advised to purge this cartridge first. The information I dug up about purging is to flush slow running tap water into the cartridge. The trouble is that the hole I...
Thank you for your advice.
I print things from different applications. Right now, I'm using Adobe Acrobat to print a long pdf file. I assume it uses PGBK.
I have an empty oem canon PGBK cartridge that's put aside for a long time. Can I simply fill it with the dye ink I have? Or do I...
I don't really know a lot about printer, so it's all my speculation... which may not be correct.
I don't remember exactly what happened... My printing quality was good until one day all my black-and-white documents came out with a greenish tint. After that, the print quality dramatically...
I made a mistake of buying cheap cartridges on ebay , and now my PGBK printhead is clogged with black dye ink.
I do have a lot of black dye ink that can be used to refill BK tank. Is this the only thing I need in order to print black-and-white documents?
I have a Canon MX860 color...
Thanks for the answer.
Where can people get outlet hole caps? I looked up in ebay, but didn't see any. On the outlet hole, I just put a round label , the kind that can be peeled out from its backing, and wrap it with rubber band. If they don't work, then I may consider buying these caps...
I posted about my problem with leaking ink earlier, and now I'm about to refill the ink tank again. It seems to me that the simplest method is using wax to seal the refill hole, given that my refill kit doesn't have a needle long enough for the German method and I had already drilled a hole...
Thanks. It's depressing to know I've been screwed by an ebay seller. Now I'm researching on this forum on how to seal the hole.
I'm also wondering whether I can clean out the ink reservoir somehow to prevent it from overflow one day. Can this be done? If yes, how?
I refilled the black ink tank in my Canon MX860 about three months ago. It's completely empty now. I actually haven't used this printer that much, and am scratching my head. After some online investigation, I think two possible causes that are stated below. I will appreciate people's...
