Creality are producing a little relatively inexpensive scanner called the Ferret Pro which is getting some very good reviews. The thing you need to consider is how long you are willing to invest in processing the scanned file as they do noeed a lot of time to get them cleaned up into a usable file.
I'm with The Hat - get a good quality scanner and do your own. That way you have control over how they look and can produce exactly the printed quality you want if you decide to print them. Also you can take care handling them and not worry about posting and possible loss of the originals or...
I bought S3D slicer as it was the de facto slicer for printing 3Dlabprint RC models. It was a good slicer in its day and I still use for their models, however, it is way behind now in terms of features .
I tried Cura, didn't like the interface much, tried Prusa which is better but I have...
At the print size I think not having a heated chamber poses no problem. Heat soak for 20 mins with the bed at print temp and I think all will be fine. It's a very tempting printer at the price, just wonder if it will be truly free from "phone home" connections. If so then all the more reason...
Yet another printer aimed at the same market as Bambu. Initial reviews seem quite good and for anyone about to buy a printer there are some good discounts for Early Birds, or as I call them "Beta Testers"
A laser might be a good option but many are now tied down to use the OEM toner by use of chips etc. Some of the older Brother printers are still able to use 3rd party toner and you can get good quality 3rd party toner from some sources.
Since you don't have too long before the Birthday I suggest you look for a file to download and print that is close to what you want to create. Any new software to create a purse from scratch is going to require a steep learning curve.
For design work I use Fusion 360. It is free for hobby use...
Johnny 5 didn't design himself :D
Its all about practice when we get older. I have found if I don't use software for a couple of weeks I forget some of the less used features. I'll prove that later today as I haven't used F360 for at least a month and I will struggle with it for a while...
I don;t know how I missed this for so long but I just discovered Hueforge software and the interesting way you can create 2d/3d type prints, even without a mulitcolour capable printer.
You make a valid point @Artur5 about the energy consumption. What I did like about the new Prusa Core one is they have minimised the chamber area so it will be much easier to maintain temperature and for PLA they also have a vent at the top so there is no need to leave the door open or remove...
Don't think you will have any problems fixing anything. Most printers have a large community on Discord and plenty of people that will help. Some parts will always need to be sourced from the manufacturer but Ali will carry a lot of parts for the major brands i.e they have parts for Bambu and...
Looking at a couple of reviews that's a very attractive printer and the price is competitive with the Bambu. Not having to use the cloud is also a bonus for those that value their privacy.
Hopefully it will eventaully support Klipper software as there are so many good add ons with Klipper...
