Initially ink comes out but then fades even though cartridge is full

If it's suffering of starvation it doesn't matter if it's full or not. Electrical damage shows some defined partial printing leving some blank areas.

    Refilling Canon with OEM ink

Knowing that this HP ink works relatively good and no photo black is available an idea came to my mind. How about mixing C, M and Y to get the black?. To achieve a deeper black adding up a little Photo Black whether it is 3rd party or OEM. Also using an OEM Canon PBK cart is an option.

    Refilling Canon with OEM ink

Thanks for your comments! I have a printhead that will allow me to do the test with mixed ink. I have an old Epson ND inkset. Prints made with this ink don´t turn the black brown on Canon Plus Glossy II, as with other well known Canon USA seller compatible ink. I will make the test in the next...

    Refilling Canon with OEM ink

You are quite right. I was thinking of this impediment, but 3 colors for Canon is a big advance, just get a good quality black and gray ink for 4/5 color printers, and you will get a decent fade resistance. Remember that sometimes the weakest link as stated by others is the magenta or cyan. If...

@Ink stained Fingers My mistake with L1300 you are right. I just did not checked the specs carefully with it.

Error B200, then dead logic board. Attention electronicians!

Hi Ludens. I guess you will have to accept the fact that current generation printers are perhaps designed to last only a few years and then you will have to forget about them and get a new one. The alternative to Canon would be Epson now that you are in Latin America it would be and Epson L...

How to use Refillables with Auto Reset Chips

Perhaps as soon as you see a non acceptable print. If you don´t see any problem then it might be best not to do anything to that inferior quality sponge.

How to use Refillables with Auto Reset Chips

As far as I understand you have to wait until the printer marks the carts empty and then you remove then and then insert them, and the carts will be shown as full. This is the way the ARC chip is designed. If you had a resettter for that chip refilling them as soon as you they are shown low is...

WARNING: Canon's current OEM yellow ink Chromalife 100+ Yellow 251/551/271/571 et al

@The Hat I am using this forum member ink from Canada (no problem with this ink). However I had another ink I used to get for years without any trouble, which is the one I think caused the trouble. In the printheads I used this is where I have seen the fuzzines. The sponge was wet, the...

WARNING: Canon's current OEM yellow ink Chromalife 100+ Yellow 251/551/271/571 et al

Hi Pavel, as you might have noticed all of the black nozzles fire, but in a bad way. At first I thought it was just a mere misalignment problem. I thouhgt that it was time to align the head. Well, this method did not work. The black/gray alignment blocks are not printed well, not the same case...

Ink Refilling questions on CLI-251 Printers

Epson printheads last longer as they are not heated, therefore they dont need a good coolant agent in the ink as the Canon/HP. Epson sometimes is complicated with air bubbles trapped in the printhead which might lead you to think is a clog. Ink quality however is better than 3rd party Canon...

WARNING: Canon's current OEM yellow ink Chromalife 100+ Yellow 251/551/271/571 et al

Hey Hat, once you get this fuzzy black problem no matter how hard you try to align the head you will get the same results. Perhaps Pavel´s printer just needs a printhead alignment, that is the reason why I asked a nozzle test scan.

WARNING: Canon's current OEM yellow ink Chromalife 100+ Yellow 251/551/271/571 et al

It is good to know this thread has been useful to you in any way. I hope you can share your print nozzle scan/photo. Even if your printer has the fuzzy/misaligned black, it should be able to print photos. Have you tried printing in high quality? Often the bad quality photo printing is solved by...

WARNING: Canon's current OEM yellow ink Chromalife 100+ Yellow 251/551/271/571 et al

Here is what I mentioned before, prints without gray look better after some days. These images were printed on March 28th one after another on the same sheet. You can see the red cast in the hair and overall color looks muted and pale in the bottom images. Again you can see the the fuzzy black...
