Guys, I would like to know if printheads for mp540 and mp550 are the same? I cannot get my mp550 work coz of a b200 error so I am thinking of fixing a second hand mp540 printhead into it. Do you think that would be possible?

Stratman, I'll flush the cart as you suggested but just one question. Once I take off the cart, do I need to put another one into the empty place to prevent the printheads from drying? Coz I guess it will take no less than one day to dry the sponge properly.

When you say , do you mean that the printer may calculate the remaining ink level wrong even if, say, half of the cartridge is full when I use a refillable one?

Yes, everything is OK and they are free from all sort of dirt. In fact, if this was the case, the printer wouldn't recognise the original ones as well (I think). Many thanks for the hand. :)

Actually I have already replaced them but the problem still continues. The thing I cannot understand is if it is the chips that are mulfunctioning, they either work or not. In my case, they are sometimes recognised and at other times not. Anyway, I think I'll go for the OEMs and buy a chip...
