Heard back from the seller, and it seems I selected the wrong printer model. (R280 and not Artisan50-- duh!)
New carts are on the way, and I will follow up with the results to clear the seller's good name. :)

I may try to swap the ARC chips manually as well. Worth a shot.

I initialized the printer with the OEM cartridges, everything worked perfectly. After a few weeks I tried to swap out for the refillables.
I followed the instructions to the letter, making sure all six third-party ink cartridges were installed at once.
The red light came on right away, and none...
The new ones do have chips on them, although they look slightly different.

I just purchased a set of refillable ink cartridges from an eBay seller. (yes, excellent feedback)
Unfortunately after replacing the original cartridges, I had a flashing power light and a continuous red Ink light.
The printer status says no cartridges are installed.
Having the ink levels...
