Maxify PGI-1200 Refillable Cartridges - Leaky Blue?

I've taken apart the print head before for manual cleaning, it's moreso that there's a bit of volume inside where old ink from each color could reside as a "buffer". The print head PCB and head can be unscrewed and separated from the cartridge carrier and there's some seals inside, but otherwise...

Maxify PGI-1200 Refillable Cartridges - Leaky Blue?

Do you know why this happens? It's so weird, I've somewhat noticed this too. It is that sensitive to the liquid level in the cartridges? It seems it is possible for different colors to leak out from the print head then get absorbed back to the adjacent one.

[UPDATED] G2010 Colour Print Head once again dies after 1.5 years

Interesting, so maybe these Canon thermal heads are more robust than people make them out to be. If the head was suspected to be bad anyways, I would've had no problems just using something more potent like a mixture of rubbing alcohol and Windex to forcefully purge it. If that doesn't unclog...

Maxify PGI-1200 Refillable Cartridges - Leaky Blue?

Ok so looks like I finally got this working. I ordered replacement DYE ink that was advertised as being compatible with Canon PG/PGI series. Sucked out all the old ink from the cartridges and filled with the new ink. But this time instead of filling the cartridges 80-90% full, I only put 15 mL...

Maxify PGI-1200 Refillable Cartridges - Leaky Blue?

Yes I meant cyan. I'm using the terms blue and cyan interchangeably because I'm a noob. This printer only has 4 colors. I ordered some replacement ink and we'll see what happens. Interesting theory that maybe the cartridge could have an air leak. But interestingly when I take out the print...

Maxify PGI-1200 Refillable Cartridges - Leaky Blue?

Yup it's certainly tricky. In my case this is a beater printer and I have an extra donor print head so I really don't mind experimenting. I'm going to buy some new dye ink that's advertised to be compatible with the PGI series and see what happens. Worse case if it doesn't work I can still make...

Maxify PGI-1200 Refillable Cartridges - Leaky Blue?

Fixed the link. The refillable cartridge I got is slightly different, but yes basically one of these generics. I guess the reason why I was trying to stick with a dye is for standardization so that I can also use it on my Brother (it seems less picky on ink and will take anything). All other...

Maxify PGI-1200 Refillable Cartridges - Leaky Blue?

Thanks, probably my mistake for grabbing the nearest bulk dye ink refil I had laying around to fill these. Surprisingly, on Amazon there does not appear to be any pigment specific compatible replacements. There is one product that lists as compatible with PGI-1200 but it's a dye. Could it be...

Maxify PGI-1200 Refillable Cartridges - Leaky Blue?

Hi guys, I have a Canon MB2720 with a brand new head that I sourced from a donor unit. I have put brand new refillable cartridges in and refilled them with a dye ink for all colors. The problem is, everything appears to be coming out very wet and gradually the blue seeps into the magenta. I am...
