I have been trying to get my purge unit to drain on my Canon MP830 and I am having trouble even figuring out if I actually have a problem or not...

Ok, so I got the purge pads off, cleaned the pads to get them to be white, and put some water onto the purge trays....but the water just sits in them.
What should I do now? Shall I try to get a flexible syringe to suck out any clog in the tubes as ghwellsjr recommends and/or should I consider...
I will try to remove the purge pads and clean them and do what pourhaus did in #19.
For further clarification:
1) Any ideas on how to remove the purge pads? Tweezers?
2) I don't know how Pourhaus got the printer to print all of the colors including the black, after he cleaned the purge pads...

Ok, so now I have followed Trigger37's instructions for putting water on the purge pads and unfortunately, the water doesn't seem to drain. Before I concede that the purge unit is completely faulty and needs to be replaced, should I do anything else, like use...
Does anyone know where the "wiper contacts of the purge unit" are and if so, can you please describe and/or show a photo pointing to them? I was instructed to clean them with paper towel and Windex. Thanks!
Thank you for the reference to the #19 photos. Unfortunately, I still don't really know or understand where that is? I can't seem to locate those on my Canon MP830. Please advise how to find those.
I have the same problem with my Canon MP830...my PGBK doesn't work though it is half filled. Where exactly is the print pad that I am supposed to flood with Windex and what does it look like? I have taken out the print cartridges as well as the black plastic unit that holds all 5 cartridges...
