Phase out of some Canon Megatank Printers

You are right, was referring to the L8050, which is the A4 variant of the L18050. I think the L1800 has been replaced by the L18050, I no longer see it in stock anywhere locally. I seem to recall the L1800 had some problem which is why I did not buy it at the time, I think it did badly in your...

Phase out of some Canon Megatank Printers

The interesting printers are the Epson ET-8550, L18050 and L18100. They cost more than the G550 but are A3 capable like the Canon pro-200, and the inks are cheap like the G550 Theres the Epson ET-8500 and L8050 which are A4 capable, these are the most similar to the G550 but when it comes to...

    How to store Swellable Paper

    How to store Swellable Paper

My L10850 did NOT come with any paper unfortunately. I have purchased a fair bit of epson paper - "Epson Glossy Photo Paper", "Epson Premium Glossy", and "Epson Premium Semigloss" fairly cheaply. So far I have tested the "Epson Premium Glossy" and "Epson Glossy Photo Paper" and they both work...

    Meltdown of Print Head Alignment

I suspect Choosing “1” makes box “1” become box “4” in the next pass This allows selection of -1, -2, -3 and so on

    How to store Swellable Paper

I tried a different paper - “HP Photosmart” paper, It was impossible to use with my printer, the Epson ink pooled even on the slowest setting and did not get absorbed into the paper at all

A basic guide (see post #1) to setting up ARGYLL CMS profiling on your computer

I had a problem with the CAP480 chart, With the ES-2000 (aka i1Publish Pro 2), the chart is too big to scan... It seems that the spectro needs to start on a white part of the paper, but when using the ruler from the ES-2000 it is not possible to start on a white section of the paper while also...

    How to store Swellable Paper

I printed the CAP480 test chart and got no apparent bleeding even though there are tons of color transitions on the chart, so I think the printer is not putting down too much ink.

    How to store Swellable Paper

Ok, I get the general idea Using a 10x triplet loupe, I pixel peeped two images, the first with epson premium glossy paper "High" quality and the same print on HP paper with +15 brightness color correction dialed in to get the brightness more similar (its still darker) to the Epson print * The...

    How to store Swellable Paper

How can I tell if "ink limits are exceeded"? If I do not see pooling does this mean that the ink limits are NOT exceeded? I have found settings where no pooling can be seen, even in completely black / dark regions, and this is with 100% ink density I have a very large amount of paper to try...

    How to store Swellable Paper

I have a stack of what is apparently swellable HP paper in a dry cabinet set at 40% relative humidity... I think the idea is that the paper works best when as much water is drawn out of the paper as possible? What relative humidity should other non-swellable paper be stored at? would 40% cause...

Fading of patch sheets in the dark

How long do you think I should dry the prints before making a profile with 107 inks?

How exactly do I “recondition” it? Put it into a dry cabinet on the maximum setting?

HP Premium Plus paper and L18050

I have no idea tbh, got it really cheap, about $0.05 euro equivalent per A4 sheet. I have a huge stack of the stuff 😂

HP Premium Plus paper and L18050

After tweaking the print settings to slow down the printer, I could fix the ink pooling issue. The prints look good enough to me, but the contrast seems too high when using 100% ink density. 80% seems very slightly faded That said I got myself a Specto (ES-2000) what do I do now? 😂

HP Premium Plus paper and L18050

In addition to the HP logo there is also a barcode and arrow on the back of the paper... its pretty obvious what is the back side tbh. The ink is dry to the touch immediately after printing, but an hour after printing the ink will come off with a damp cloth. 24hrs after printing, the prints...

HP Premium Plus paper and L18050

The Extended Settings menu looks exactly the same on the L18050 as your screenshot above Do you know what’s the difference between changing “Print Density” on the extended settings menu, and “Density” on the color correction menu?

HP Premium Plus paper and L18050

I am hoping "fast dry" does not mean "never dry". For what its worth, I set brightness to +20 in the "Color Correction" menu and the print looks ok. From the looks of it maybe +25 would be fine too. @Ink stained Fingers , When you make your profiles, how do you decide on a print density setting?
