Subject: Note for Potential Buyers of Canon Pro 1000 Printer I feel compelled to share my recent experience with the Canon Pro 1000 printer in hopes of preventing others from encountering similar frustrations. Regrettably, despite the printer's capability of producing exceptional prints, it...

Hello again Mr. Hat! Nice to receive your help. It seems to be fixed again. Because I could not see "ink Quality Maintenance" ... I decided to try another normal "nozzle clean" (maybe that is what you meant). Anyway, it appears to be OK. I wonder what the problem is. Switching to cheaper ink...

PM zero again. I was hoping this problem was over. If it were a car, I would guess a tiny air leak. Any suggestions? (Other than dumping another 200 euro worth of ink) ...

Paper Quality: Cheap vs. Expensive for Photo Printing

This is a non-Ai (manual) attempt at grain reduction on the background. Not sure if it is better or worse. (Colours not yet fixed)

Paper Quality: Cheap vs. Expensive for Photo Printing

Hi!, Thanks. At this time I am studying the options. As I mentioned above, shortly, I am expecting a free upgrade to another software product. During breakfast today, I have been playing around with the noise, and have not achieved anything significant. No need to reconstruct your previous...

Paper Quality: Cheap vs. Expensive for Photo Printing

My guess about Ai denoising may be correct. The grain is so large, when I used various settings (including Ai) the software informed me "there is no grain". Not sure how "Ink Stained Fingers" did what he did. Maybe working with the image of the image tricked the Ai into a different guessing...

Paper Quality: Cheap vs. Expensive for Photo Printing

Hi! Sounds complicated. Have not tried it. Not a Photoshop expert, but apparently did purchase the first copy ever sold in USA (for $1600) in 1990. Because of my "Zombie Colours" and grain complaints, I have fiddled around with this image and attach two test strips for critique. GRAIN - I...

Paper Quality: Cheap vs. Expensive for Photo Printing

Hi, Thanks! Yes, good idea. Have already tried that. Because the grain is huge, neither of the techniques I played with worked. My guess is, with extra large grain, the Ai and regular processes consider the grain part of the image, rather than something to be hidden. Adding grain is a...

Hi Flummi, Thanks again. The Fotospeed Gloss, 270g sells for 144 Euro (24 inch/61cm per 30 meters). I wonder how it compares to "RC Roll Inkjet Paper High-Gloss Photo Paper 260 g/m² – 61 cm x 30 m GLOSSY Waterproof Suitable for Dye and Pigment Inks" .... for 90 euro https://amzn.to/4cjiu80...

Paper Quality: Cheap vs. Expensive for Photo Printing

This shows the result of a "bad quality" image printed on A2 Matt paper (with the Canon Pro 1000). The original was shot on 400 ASA (iso) film in Aspen, Colorado with a 500mm lens (hand held). Scanned on a $10,000 Kodak negative scanner, resulting in a digital file size of about 5mp. At this...

Interesting. Thank you. Regarding "you cannot assume a particular quality level" ... Yes, I understand. Once upon a time I hired a migrant to fix my roof. His other job was selling copies of designer bags. His main customer was the official store.

Paper Quality: Cheap vs. Expensive for Photo Printing The choice between cheap and expensive printer paper. Currently armed with a Canon Pro 1000 loaded with pigment ink, (with special thanks to "Mr. Hat" for the troubleshooting), I'm still in the testing phase. Because I prefer paying 35...

Thanks to your expertise, my printer now has fewer blockages and is in better condition than ever before. This leads me to question the necessity of aiming for absolute perfection. Perhaps the current state suffices. I wonder if the difference between prints with slightly defective ink and those...
