i find these threads very interesting. my first inkjets were Novajets, and colorspan drum printers, and the prints did not last very long. i guess the new inks are so far byond those inks it is like alli oop.

yeah, well i do not make any money , just give a few prints away, and i tell folks to frame them if they want them to last. i guess the best i can do. i have other things that demand payments, so a new printer is not on the horizion.

if i had the money i would buy a pigment printer, but for now, i will just stick with the dye printer, and use OEM inks,i have some prints that were in a portfolio, and they still look OK after like 4 years, but i am sure if i reprinted them i would see a difference.

or just contine to use the carts from canon, but i seem to use more of PC than other colors. this is really just experimenting, as from what i have read, no dye inks will be as fade resistant as the pigs , by a very long shot. this printer has not had a huge amount of use,

i do not see the GI53 inks listed here in usa. i see them on the canon UK site. what ratios are used to create green, but could always stick tho green carts, as not much is used.

i have some OEM inks, i had started refilling (presicion inks) but will stick to the OEMs and as i have not beenm printing much, they will likely last a long time. it is just the fading of the prints that bothers me. i guess i would not be refilling with pigments, i t was just a thought, not...
