hmmm...I will check the prices on ebay..however, unless I am misreading didn't Nifty Stuff say in his post link to his opinion of consumer reports "The ink doesn't match the brand name ink. Cheap ink will clog your nozzles more often. Off brand ink won't last as long. To this I say HOGWASH...

if the issues are refilling...I am buying NEW carrot cartridges each time...perhaps I should look into filling...but that is really not the original issue...problem with magenta printing..even after having a new print head and new purger...very strange

yes, I am using Carrot...recommended by consumer reports as the only decent non oem cartridge...you think that is the issue?.........took it back to the repair shop and they are now replacing the circuit board, or something....

OK, how about this one....same problem Magenta not printing.....just had to tell you guys....when I deep cleaned the magenta would print well...then not after a day....finally, under warrantly took it to a dealer for fixing...they replaced the print head and purge unit..showed me the nozzle...

ok, then based on the fact that it is carrot, any other thoughts....just ran a standard cleaning and it is printing ok so perhaps a few days of idlt time did the trick. Is there one general process that is recommended for cleaning the head...and do you do it every often even if everything is...

alien steve.....I use Carrot ink...only as it was recommended in consumer reports as the only non oem ink to work well...dont know what you mean by cis......everything else is normal....no refillables...only new Carrot

I have a Canon MP 780...great printer....was not getting magenta to print well...saw a recommendation to soak the print head in hot water..voila'...it worked...for a minute...now i get it to print with the nozzle check....then it does not....do a cleaning.....will print...next sheet it does...
