How many color patches are needed for a (good) profile ?

Going to get rid of this bot (or idiot) posting AI generated drivel?

    Et-7750

The OP and I were talking about borderless printing overspray collection pad replacement which the WIC utility could but apparently doesn't support.

    Et-7750

Printing borderless is generally considered to be a bad idea and gave you this problem. There is a WIC reset utility which claims to support the ET-7750. It requires you to purchase a US$ 10 key to use it (possibly a free trial key can be used to set the pads to 80% full). Personally I would be...

I CAN have nice things, right?!?! Pulling the trigger on a Bambu Lab H2S

There a many small (250g) spool adapter designs to fit the AMS (including this one of mine for EONO spools). If PLA is breaking in the AMS it is probably brittle from being damp. That said I always pull PLA out of the AMS feeders when not in use. Constant pressure from the feeder gears and/or...

Printprism: I have bought it to test its capabilities and quality of the rgb profiles

When comparing profiles I created with an i1studio and Epson installed profiles for the ET-7750 (ET-8550 predecessor) I found the Epson profiles to be a little optimistic all round.

Printprism: I have bought it to test its capabilities and quality of the rgb profiles

Hopefully you can do what the author has failed to by posting a Printprism created profile for an ET-8550 supported Epson paper. One of their glossy papers preferably.

Possibility to convert csv-file with only L*A*B* values into a ArgyllCMS ti3 file

If you mess up the 'un-randomizing' you can give colprof a well formed ti3 file with measurements associated with the wrong patches. SAMPLE_LOC gets an extra character after 26 columns. Just guessing.

Possibility to convert csv-file with only L*A*B* values into a ArgyllCMS ti3 file

Maybe more than 26 columns? I don't have much experience with colprof. It uses loads of memory and CPU. I have a feeling when fed inconsistent data it will barf or take an inordinate amount of time trying to make sense of it.

Possibility to convert csv-file with only L*A*B* values into a ArgyllCMS ti3 file

My guess would be a bug in your script. Did you compare generated .ti3 files from your script and the working awk script?

A funny thing happened on the way to the Forum..

Sure. As long as you are happy to only use papers and ink from that particular inkjet manufacturer which are supported by that particular printer. With the ET-8550 for example your photo papers would be limited to 2 mattes, 1 lustre, and 3 glossies differing only by weight.

TI1, TI2, CSV and printtarg target files for SpyderPrint Targets

Qimage had what I consider to be a bug or at best a useless error message. I don't know if it got fixed in the current version. If the Job Profile | Printer Profile drop down contains an icc profile Qimage attempts to read it even when OFF is selected in the drop down. If that profile is...

Possibility to convert csv-file with only L*A*B* values into a ArgyllCMS ti3 file

Yep, Epson use some different media names in different regions. My comment wasn't really a suggestion for the batch file just a heads up. When you profile a non-Epson paper the question is what is the best media and quality setting to use and I posted my conclusions. If you inspect the Epson...

Possibility to convert csv-file with only L*A*B* values into a ArgyllCMS ti3 file

Thanks for sharing. I don't know if you followed older threads, but, I have posted that as far as I can see for the ET-8550 all glossy and lustre or semi-glossy media settings are the same except ultra glossy which has a best quality setting that I think needs its own profiles. I don't think...

Possibility to convert csv-file with only L*A*B* values into a ArgyllCMS ti3 file

I just inspected the profiles. The only measurement set I have is from a 728 patch pain paper target so not worth printing anything with it. I attach ti3 files with and without Lab values so you can generate your own profiles to inspect/compare. I actually just deleted the LAB columns in the...

Can this be true: spectro quality printer profiles with this software and a scanner.....???

It still seems he and people who have bought the tool are the only ones to have seen a profile generated by it.

Possibility to convert csv-file with only L*A*B* values into a ArgyllCMS ti3 file

The hole in the CR30 is 4.2mm so 8mm patches allow only about 2mm of misalignment. I think you did well to measure 10mm patches without a guide. A couple more things I learnt. Elsewhere someone asked about the CR30 light source. It is 3 bright white LEDs focused to a small patch on the...

    Scanning Slides

The scanner must have been seeing more of its own light. Maybe Kodachrome is more reflective or your set up was different. You could try something like this, but results from a cheap scanner and lighting kludge will never be great. Most people digitise slides and negatives with a camera.
  18. E

    Scanning Slides

The scanner has a monochrome sensor and switched R, G, and B LED illumination to detect colors. You are only going to get monochrome scans with a separate light source.

Can this be true: spectro quality printer profiles with this software and a scanner.....???

The thing isn't much money and he can't really offer a demo which people could use to produce all the profiles they need. I still wouldn't buy it without confirmation it produces useful profiles. He ought to provide a few generated profiles for common printers and papers that people can...

    ET-8550 Overspray

That also means it only happens on matt papers. With VFA media type the speed is half that of standard matt and I assume it puts down more ink. I suggest similar to best quality mode only available for ultra glossy paper which is also half speed and ought to have specific color profiles. One...
