    ipf8300 Mac OSX 10.6.8 Usb choosing ipf8300-2

I learned this 15 years ago. Now it bites me in the ass. Somehow the computer went to default on Energy setting. So it was going to sleep before the print was done. Fixed

    Precision colors inks

If too much ink is laid down it will take longer to dry or not dry at all. Black ink on baryta Gloss is an example. I use a wet polymer coating on canvas and heavy areas will bleed if not enough drying time is given. BTW This is with an ipf8300 OEM Inks and 3rd party papers

    too large to print?

Yes I stated that billboards are low dpi. Giclee Fine Art Reproduction needs 300 dpi. A friend that prints landscape also uses 300 dpi. Both my artists and myself see the difference.

    too large to print?

I have printed that size many times. Since I mostly work with artists reproducing their work, I always print 300 dpi files. The questions you need to ask are what is the ink set. Are you okay with Aquous where the print will need to be coated, or would you rather use a latex or solvent based...

And here is a scanned image from a medium format colour negative. Then I used the Michel Orton Effect to enhance.

    Inkjet print on painted paper

In this case Golden used to make digital transparent grounds. Other companies also make materials.

    Hand-coloured Gelatine print

Over the decades I made many hand coloured B&W portraits and landscapes. These usually started with sepia, selenium or gold toning silver bromide or silver chloride papers. Several techniques and materials are still available to photographers. I suppose I migrated to an alcohol-water based...

    Hand-coloured Gelatine print

Not in this case. The image started in a medium format B&W film camera. A traditional wet darkroom print was made on Silver bromide dodging and burning under an enlarger. Then the image was hand coloured with water-based dyes. Next I copied the image onto 4x5 Ektachrome film. After digitizing...

    Inkjet print on painted paper

Some printers allow you to print multiple times on a sheet but others do not. My older now decommissioned 9600 would allow but my ipf8300 does not, or at least I have never been able to. I think a sensor sees that the paper is not fresh and won't load. Try experimenting with your Canon. Try...

    Using Mismatched hardware for effect

This forum doesn't allow large images. My post #3 shows an infrared false colour pano. Here is a detail out of a building in the right quarter. It shows people going up the stairs that I did not know were there. BTW the image is not stitched. The scan at 50% res took 63 seconds.

    Colormunki Photo repair

I bought the same circuit cables, but, when I got into the ColorMunki the cable was still good and, the plastic that held the reflectors was also okay. It turned out that the reflectors weren't reflecting because they were fading. See post #26. I decided to fix only the reflectors and all...

    Using Mismatched hardware for effect

Another image; Interesting story. I was weed whacking and I caught a stone. It took fight and then took out the glass pane on the next door neighbours deck. As the sun started to set I seized the opportunity to place my pano rig in that very opening which was accidentally created. Then five...
