Epson Stylus Pro 9600 printing on polycotton

Hi Andreas, no problem and enjoy the break. I was using the matt black ink I had and it was on polycotton (against your advice). I did an ink change and printed off several feet of black on some old lining paper. Interestingly I kept getting banding after 6 or so inches of printing as though...

as you can see the blue of the forget-me-nots completely disappeared and much of the grey for the smart car and glider . In addition the grey of the apple logo/tennis racquets and five fingered shoes (these are all pertinent to ex-boss whose retirement I want to commemorate) have gone red

Epson Stylus Pro 9600 printing on polycotton

Hi Andreas , thanks for that explanation. In that case I guess I wouldn't be able to examine the dampers for leaks without removing the head which I don't think I am brave enough to do. Had a look at the printfab software, looks interesting and will give it a go, but at 200 quid for the version...

Hi Guy, thanks for the reply, actually that is an interesting concept. As I siad it doesn't appear to be to do with head strikes. Epson Stylus Pro 9600 printing on polycotton

Hi Andreas I increased the platen gap to wide and had another go at printing this time I went for a whole scene, raphaels trasfiguration. I intend to use it as a lining for a jacket I am making for my parish priest ! As you see I still had the 'vomits' .The print started with the head of Christ...

Epson Stylus Pro 9600 printing on polycotton

Thanks Andreas, much appreciated. I think I have enough for a shirt with that last print, but i will try with the next pattern and let you know how I get on. I noticed 'platen' gap when scrolling through the menus but didn't know what it meant. I have just looked it up and can see what you mean...

Epson Stylus Pro 9600 printing on polycotton

hi folks bit of an update I bought some oil cloth (if that is what is called) from Dunelm. The sort of plastic backed cloth you use to cover picnic tables. Anyway rolling that up with the printable cotton fabric greatly improved the way that the fabric went through the printer. You still can't...

Epson Stylus Pro 9600 printing on polycotton

Hi Guy/Andreas I am only going to print stuff in pursuit of my hobby of making wacky clothes I have a day job so I am not contemplating going into commercial production. However the information you provide is very interesting. I think I will stick to 100% cotton to make sure that the image takes...

Epson Stylus Pro 9600 printing on polycotton

Hi folks, fantastic to find this thread. I recently bought a 9600 for precisely this purpose. Picked it up from Ebay for 99 quid and am made up. I have been using sheets and duvets from charity shops to print on as I am less worried about smudges when it is only 30p per metre ! Here are my...
