Apparently VO5 hairspray is effective in reducing the effects of UV on inkjet printed pages. It is supposed to help increase their resistance to fading and also help to waterproof water based inks. I haven't tried it myself but apparently it helps. Has anyone heard or know about this?
Epson printers are well known for clogging. Usually we recommend only 2 nozzle cleans and then just keep printing like the other guy said. If the lines are still there then a cleaning solution may be needed to break down the dried ink which is still inside of the printhead.

Yes The Hat is quite correct in saying that you can use dishwashing liquid. Most detergents will break down water based inks quite well. Many of the cleaning fluids are actually detergent based.
