Dare I use 3rd Party Ink on an Epson P400?

Check out some videos on the latest third party inkset for the P400/R2000/R1900 by @jtoolman Third party inksets can be hit or miss, but I don't see any reason you couldn't use it on this printer. The results look pretty close at a fraction of the cost. I'm considering picking up a P400 as well...

Epson P400 Photo Printer. Should I use special software to print?

You can use MS Word, but there's also the free "Epson Print Layout" software that is simple and works pretty well for layout and color management.

    PC Cartridge Swap Sequence Question

I'm not sure actually. Maybe Mike can tell us at what % a swap is no longer possible. I can say that if any cartridge (not just PK or MK) has the yellow !, you won't be able to do the ink swap. I taped over the exit ports on my OEM carts and put them in a bag, just in case. Have fun! :)

    PC Cartridge Swap Sequence Question

If you have your carts from PC, you can go ahead and put them all in the printer. The main reason you want to keep the OEM carts (particularly the blacks) is if you encounter a situation where the ink level is too low to do an ink switch but not low enough to auto-reset. Then you use an OEM...

    Epson L800 Experience

Oh it definitely works, I just tried it on my L805: Ignore the profiling pattern, this was scrap 13x19 paper I cut down to 8.5x14.

    Epson L800 Experience

Yes, with the borderless option checked you can choose 8.5 inches wide and 14 inches long. Also remember that the driver won't let you print borderless with the plain paper media type.

SC-P600 Waste Ink and WIC Reset Utility

With the initial carts, about 10ml each are used to charge the ink delivery system, so the carts will appear to deplete faster than usual (those chips are programmed to report full after the initial ink charge). The ARC refillable carts will reset when you would get a low ink warning (yellow !)...

SC-P600 Waste Ink and WIC Reset Utility

There's a link to a R3000 service manual in this post - I don't see any reference to an automatic stirring mechanism, so I guess it's just to aid in manual mixing. Going back to a previous thread, I wonder if there's a difference in the frequency of automatic cleaning cycles between OEM carts...

    Epson L800 Experience

It is a fun little printer! I'm running low on LC and LM, I should order some more ink soon. You can get around it by creating a user defined size, since borderless capability is based on width and not length.

SC-P600 Waste Ink and WIC Reset Utility

The issue I mentioned is not about the PK/MK switch, but is about what happens when the printer stops in the middle of a print due to ink exhaustion as reported by the chip. This isn't only a problem with refillables, Keith at Northlight Images found the same issue when he reviewed the P600...

SC-P600 Waste Ink and WIC Reset Utility

Yes the auto-reset chips in the carts from Precision Colors work as designed, but if you want to control when the ink levels reset you can use a resetter. I use this one, works just fine with my refillables from PC. In my opinion it's worth it - I had a few prints ruined when the printer stopped...

SC-P600 Waste Ink and WIC Reset Utility

Right, you can find "adjustment programs" for various printer models which have several other useful functions, but those are something to keep away from your main PC :hide The printer will warn you when the waste ink pads are about to reach end of life and you can also check in the utility, so...

SC-P600 Waste Ink and WIC Reset Utility

Hello! The P600, like all desktop printers of its class, has fixed waste ink pads that absorb ink used in cleaning etc and are designed to be serviced by a technician when they reach end of life. Fortunately, it is very easy to open up the P600 and divert the waste ink to an external catcher -...

Epson P600 Warning Message. Am in trouble?

It's one reason why I picked the P600 as well. It's a shame to see them locking things down since I've seen Epson printers as having a lot of potential through various alternate software, inksets, hardware hacks etc. I'm not impressed by the "regionalization" of all these printers as well. The...

Epson P600 Warning Message. Am in trouble?

The non-genuine warning whenever you print comes from Epson Status Monitor 3. I think you can disable it if you are printing over USB, but that option is not available if you're printing over the network for some reason. You can go into the directory Windows\System32\spool\drivers\x64\3 (if...

P600 Aftermarket Inks and Refillable Carts?

Well now that the SC-P5000 has been announced as the pro 17" printer replacing the 4900, maybe they'll forget about locking down the P800 o_O Manual resetter on the ARC refillable carts work great on the P600 too.

What good will it do to Fit a Printer Potty ...?

Does that work? I would have thought you would need to keep any unauthorized modifications under wraps if you had to send the printer in for servicing.

Canon Pro-100 and Red River UltaPro Satin - B&W

Just to check, is color management turned off in the driver when printing in color mode? To neutralize color casts in BW prints, I do one of two things: Create a custom profile. Not all profiles are created equal, many of them do not adequately neutralize the grays. In Epson's ABW mode, I...

Fine Art paper for Digital prints

Plus Semi-gloss is less shiny (and has a less pronounced texture) than Pro Luster. It is also watermarked Canon on the back. I quite like semi-gloss; a sparkly luster finish can sometimes be distracting and the semi-gloss finish is closer to the more expensive papers like Ilford Gold Fiber Silk...

    Canon Print Heads...

Forgive me for being an ignorant Epson user, but how long are Canon print heads usually kept in stock? While the printer is in production + x years? And how often do you change print heads?
